It was an adventurous day.
I was coming home with my new “used car” this Thursday afternoon and sure enough someone tried to destroy it. Luckily this old man has some skills and good reaction time. So, while the car and occupant avoided injury as well as a few others he cut off on the same move, my new camera went flying off the passenger seat.
Yeah, I know my bad, I normally don’t keep it on the seat. I had it in its case and that appears to have saved it to my great relief. I’ve always been pretty good at keeping things in cases or some kind of protection.
I had my daughter get me a Craftsman tool bag a long time ago for Xmas. It’s one of my camera bags. It holds the big Nikon, the new camera and case, a small Kodak video camera, my cell phone, filters, reading glasses, keys, wallet, lens tissue, Chapstick, a knife, and the electronics have separators and bubble wrap under them.
Taking care of hard-earned equipment or anything has been something my parents taught me. For instance, I take care of the cars we get. We get anywhere from 150 – 200 miles and still sell a running car when we decide to move on. Or maybe the Black and Decker leaf blower from the 1960s that is still clearing the property.
Anyway, thanks to the foresight of buying a new case for the new camera and using it, I live to shoot another day. Thank you Ruggard and your Hunter 35 bag.
