Going to the well

I feel like I’m running on empty today. I’m not refreshing my internal tank enough. And I’ve increased my physical work with the outside coming into play again.

Okay, I brushed off the last yawn and I’m back in gear.

Mother Nature and I have entered the ring again for another knock down, dragged out, brutal war to maintain the yard and keep the woods at bay. Round one is a tie. I’ve managed to get the raking, weed and feed down and beat back about 10 feet of wood encroaching on more of the back yard. I’m trying to return it to the original tree line, so I have another 10 feet to go along the back.

I always feel good being able bodied enough to do battle. Though I’m getting a bit old for extended periods and the extreme heat of the summer takes its toll. I still remember looking out a window one summer at someone else cutting my yard while I was recovering from a cancer surgery. I still remember that thought that I’d never complain about yard work again if I was healthy enough to be outside doing it.

So that battle comments aren’t so much as a complaint. More out of respect for the opponent.

Random Thoughts of the Day

  • The leaf blower fired up for another season of work.
  • I think Comrade Trump should be banned from Arlington National Cemetery. He doesn’t care about living Veterans, you know he doesn’t give a damn about the deceased ones.
  • There is a special birthday coming up.
  • Fly Air Canada, just to piss of Trump.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
