Friday mornings are sweet with a beautiful sunrise. On the other hand, the season for the Maryland basketball team came to an end last night at the hands of Florida. So, It was a great morning and afternoon because our grandson and son were visiting today.

I love having them over. It was a great day, and it keeps me from drifting into the rage the news brings about in me. I’ll relish in the things I taught him today. He saw a ladder I had out for pulling the final things from that attic.

I taught him about where to position and move his hands along it. How to use each leg and make sure you have a firm footing before going up more. And how to come down slowly and safely. Of course, his father panicked when I let him climb up and touch the ceiling. I had a hold of his body all the time of course.

He was grinning ear to ear. He also liked my snowball and the pizza and games and destroying the castles of Lincoln Logs I built. But he really got into the shredded paper pile I made him.

Tomorrow is going to be a fine one. I’ll be out at daybreak pulling the cover off the car and begin the bath. Then some detailing, maybe even a nice wax job. Armor All the tires and turn up the tunes.

Check the fluids, tire pressure and engine. HIT START, Reverse out of driveway. Shift, Smile, Sway, adjust volume, head bob to the tunes and become one with the car. Head west, seek some twisties.

• The grass isn’t growing yet but I can hear it taunting me already.
• Time to take a trip to York Automotive. Handling and ride height adjustments.
• These big business leaders that backed Trump, like the auto barons are now seeing they backed the wrong horse. Good luck trying to educate bonehead about supply chain. And the nice thing is I’m not going to be buying a new car for some time so shove those price increases where the sun don’t shine.
• I’ve come to realize that some of Maryland basketball fans are idiots. Booing Willard was a classless move yesterday. People who don’t think he can coach are idiots.
• I’ve got me. Barely but we are hanging on.
