Who do you spend the most time with? – Okay question from the daily writing prompt.

I spend the most time with my better half. And how lucky I am for that. Saved my life. A beautiful family. Beauty inside and out. Fun travel companion. Great cook and homemaker. Good with our money. Compassionate and passionate. And she puts up with me.

How lucky can a man be. Yeah, like any married couple of several decades we have our moments. But I think of some of my friends and family who live alone or have chosen not to take on a partner along life and how different that has to be.

It seems so much easier to take on the world with a partner. And when you get a good one the slim chance of making it is there.

We shared this view together on the porch of the Lighthouse hotel we stayed at this week. Smoke from the wildfires in Canada had drifted into our skies.
