I noticed yesterday that I had a 365-day streak going on. A year. I went back last year and looked to see what broke my last streak. Ah, the good old 30-hour power outage took it away. I believe the streak at that time was 246 days.
Those are just numbers, but in some ways important. When I started blogging over a decade ago my goal was to post each day. I’m no more prepared now than I was last year to keep streaks alive. I don’t have posts scheduled in advance much. 99% of what I do is spur of the moment. I don’t have a backup power system besides a small generator.
I remember being bummed out about breaking a daily goal. But I’m more relaxed now and if it happens, it happens. It’s life. But I still have my personal goal.
I’m feeling good from the yardwork exercise, and I’m headed back out for another hour or two in the sun. Then a shower and into the convertible to test the coordination between my left knee/foot and right arm/hand going through the gears. Respectfully of course.
Random Thoughts of the Day
- I sense a wild week ahead. Then again, I could just be inspired.
- Being retired doesn’t mean you don’t still have a ton of responsibilities.
- Grandkids grow up too fast just like their parents did.
- Sometimes the keyboard feels like a musical one. I wish my words had the feeling and beat of a good song.
