Do lazy days make you feel rested or unproductive? – Not a bad question to pose on a Friday morning from the daily writing prompt.

Lazy days can leave me feeling both rested and unproductive. I don’t allow myself too many lazy days. In the past when I did that would usually leave me a bit frustrated. I’m better at accepting some lazy time now. But overall, I’d say it is unproductive.

I feel that I’ll be missing an opportunity now if I don’t take advantage of the remaining time. So, I do stay fairly active each day at something. Be it home or yard chores, my hobbies, being with family and friends, riding with the top down, exercising or learning.

I guess it’s all how you look at life. Some may look at me lying in a hammock and think that’s rather unproductive. While all the time, those batteries are recharging, creative ideas are flowing, muscles rebuilding, a look at the sky to get a better perspective and redefine the definition of blue, ears attuned to every sound, the skin feels the speed of the breeze blowing.

My problem is I don’t allow myself much hammock time.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
