Yesterday we were with family but away from home. When I returned the couch, was the winner over the computer. I guess I’ll squeak in under the window again here. Apologies for the lateness. Second apology, I didn’t get any fresh doors, and I had to raid the archive. I’ve got some ideas for next week, so I’ll have something new.
Come join in the fun of Thursday Doors. The link to our host Dan’s Site – No Facilities to see many more talented displays of grand entrances. Have a great week all. And as always thank you Dan.

An old home on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

I believe I shot this flowery entrance in Frederick Maryland.

The Jefferson Hotel in Washington DC at night. It was on my walk around the building around 1am. Usually I ate at my desk and then took a short walk around DC at night.

I believe this entrance is in Old Ellicott City MD.

Wonderful shadows and light captured in your photos, Mike. I like the first photo, that house looks very welcoming with its iconic fence and beautiful french windows.

These are great photos, Mike. I recognized the Jefferson Hotel — I never stayed there, but I walked past it on numerous occasions. I really like the photo of the gate with the flowers.

I’ve got a nice shot of the Jefferson in the snow I’ll try to dig out soon. Thanks again for the compliment Dan. Hope your weekend is a good one.

It’s nice to blog-meet you, Mike. These are great doors (and I love the yellow). Although you scared me into an “AAAKKK!” with the remark about walking around outside the hotel in DC at 1 AM. (I lived in Arlington/Alexandria for ten years before leaving the Patent and Trademark Office.) But heck, I’d have that reaction even about my current little town. LOL. Hugs.

I worked a few decades of night shifts at The Washington Post on 15th street. I’d stop and talk with homeless and if I had some lunch to share I would. Nice to meet you also.
