Another morning where sleep illudes me. Such is life. Maybe if this guy wasn’t pounding away at daybreak I could get back to sleep.

We are five houses and across the street from where our woodpecker has been feeding, and I hear him like he’s in the room with me.

    I recently read an article describing the “shock absorbers” built into their necks that allow them to do that work.
