Will the majority find common ground and good leadership in the future and get all our wheels back on the ground at the same time. Just a thought.
So, I’ll start with myself and make sure I’m well-grounded and listening as well as talking. That’s what we used to do. Then negotiate either in public and or private. I think we’re going to have to set the example from the bottom up instead of top down because that doesn’t seem to be optimally functioning.
An example of the effort I’ve been talking to a very old friend, a very special old friend. One I’ve called a best friend for many years. But one thing I never suspected separated us like it has done to many families and friendships. We are taking it slowly and just talking about a few old interest that we shared and enjoy. Maybe an old reference to a story or fun days in the past.
We haven’t gotten to the politics and that is fine because that was never part of our relationship before Trump. He probably never knew I voted every chance I got. My reasoning for that is he wasn’t active in elections before.
And I’m not foolish enough to believe that I could or would want to talk to people who aren’t willing to listen themselves. I’d like to get back to addressing issues instead of personal attacks on each other. I’d like to hear ideas instead of rhetoric. Maybe each one of us can do our part.
Let’s be our own fact checkers a bit more.

Topics of conversation have gotten interesting. My best friend and I are on opposite sides of the conversation. We have been avoiding it, but as he is becoming disappointed, he’s beginning to do the fact checking. It’s a slow process.
