I worked too long outside yesterday and when I had the time after the second shower of the day it was just about dark. I thought to myself I’ll pack up the cameras and head out shortly. That’s when the sandman paid me a visit and I was out from 8:30pm to 1:30am. Which means I broke my streak of picking up my camera each day.

Well, it’s time to recast the line again and get fishing for a good shot for this Tuesday. I won’t make the same mistake today and mix in some of my hobbies a bit more liberally.

Fishing and photography are sometimes alike. You sometimes have to wait for a good moment to hit. Photo by Mike Hartley

An old friend got in touch yesterday and we caught up as if we had just talked last week when it’s been a few months. We will get together later this month. Both lifelong Maryland basketball fans.

Random Thoughts of the Morning

  • Sweet corn from the Eastern Shore of Maryland is incredible this time of year.
  • It’s a good day to pretend I’m on vacation or playing hooky from work.
  • Some days all you can do is shake your head and say Wow.
  • Draining the batteries on the cameras today would make me happy.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
