The more I go to car shows and our Miata club meetings, the more I think about another car. I was looking up custom models available in the area just for fun earlier.
The second reason I titled this post “Looking Up” and used this picture is special. When I handed the camera to my 4-year-old grandson last week and showed him how to hold and press the shutter he reminded me that getting down to a lower angle gave some great shots.
Getting down is no problem, getting up is still very doable, but it varies from day to day and sometimes it comes with delayed discomfort. But changing my camera angle is something I need to do more of. Using my tripod and monopod more to force me to use a lower angle.
That little guy will get the camera again because the shot he took of his father was so relaxed that I might just make a large print for him to take to work or for his son’s room.
I put my favorite camera on the monopod which is now only 17 inches off the ground with the camera on it. Maybe I’ll call this baby view. When they first start to crawl up furniture and try to stand for the first time, they are about that height. And I’ll see how my back takes to this. It will give me a chance to use that angled view screen. Which I have very little experience with.
It would be wonderful if one of the grandkids got interested in photography.
Random Thoughts of the Day
- Sitting right is important. Standing is better.
- I think I mentioned pulling weeds is my least favorite yard task. Doing it while it feels like 100 is worse.
- Grilling out is a good way to end a Sunday afternoon.
- I wonder how many pairs of tennis shoes I’ve worn out in my lifetime?
- There is a good chance I’m going to shoot some hoops in the driveway for the first time in a while. And try not to injure myself.
