Twisted it

We had stopped by the local produce market on the way home from Ocean City a few weeks ago and I heard the sound of a nice motorcycle slowly cruising up the side road to the light. As I walked to my car the light turned and he slowly rolled through the intersection to turn east on Route 50 towards the ocean with nothing but open road in front of him.

And then he TWISTED IT and holy crap. My body tingled as he roared through the first 3 gears in quick succession. He was a small dot in the distance as he hit 5th. I think my smile was pretty wide by the time I opened the door. It brough back a few memories of my 2 wheel days and trips to the ocean.

I didn’t do any extreme high-speed runs like that, I rode a cruiser instead of a sport bike. There were stretches of nice roads to enjoy though.

A motorcycle with two riders, one wearing a pink helmet and the other a black helmet, riding on a rural road. The back seat rider holds a small American flag. Lush greenery and farmland are visible in the background.

I’ve gone for more comfort in my senior years. A 2-seat roadster convertible that still gives me the view and feel of the road. And yes, truth be told, it doesn’t offer much more protection than the above image. The funny thing is after having ridden for a few decades is that the Miata almost gets more people tailgating it than the motorcycle.

And tailgating bothers me so much more than any other infraction on the road. Maybe I should put a bumper sticker on the back. Former Biker, Still Dangerous.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
