It’s a phone

What are your favorite 5 apps on your phone? – Asks the daily prompt.

This is going to be embarrassing. I’m not much of a phone user except for using it as a phone. Partly because I hate reading on something that small.

  • Messages/text
  • Phone
  • News
  • Weather
  • Mail

And the mail part is only reading something essential at that moment. Otherwise, I read email on the computer. News and weather are also only quick checks.

I try to keep my phone use to an hour a day and I keep it pretty close to that. I’d like to make it less but with kids that is their communication vehicle. And looking at pictures and videos of the grandkids takes time because I don’t want to miss anything.

I hate having to use my phone for tickets.

The less screen time the better

The daily prompt wants to know – What app eats up the most of your screen time – and do you even feel bad about it?

I guess I’m old school. I use the phone for phone calls and text. Those eat up most of my screen time. The news app is probably the most after that and no I don’t feel bad about it. My goal is to keep the time on that device to under an hour a day. And I stay pretty close to that.

It is my belief that those devices are not good for people in a lot of cases. Yes, they can be very helpful and there are wonderful apps that make life better for people, but most people go down the rabbit hole with those devices and rarely look up.
