Performance

What was the last live performance you saw? – Cool question from the daily writing prompt.

Besides the shows the grandchildren put on, I believe that the last live show was last year at Pier 6 in Baltimore for the band Little Feat. They were popular in the 70s when we were growing up but still added a few hits in the 80s.

I loved going to concerts. Some of my fondest memories of my youth. I still believe I grew up in a very blessed generation musically in the 60s and 70s. At least most of the music has stood the test of time.

Going to a concert today is like night and day to the shows we used to attend. But I still enjoy a live performance.

Which reminds me I haven’t got tickets for any shows this summer.

Dance the day away

What was the last live performance you saw? – The Daily Writing prompt asks.

The last performance I saw was my 5-year-old granddaughter dancing around my living room in her new dress as proud as anyone could ever be. A smile so natural and happy it was infectious.

It’s got me thinking about dancing this morning to some music, so here we go. It’s a good day to let loose anyway. Yesterday was a bit too conservative for me.

And as Bon Jovi sings

It’s my life
It’s now or never
I ain’t gonna live forever
I just want to live while I’m alive

I’m ready for a big live performance. I found one of my wife’s favorite bands coming to town next month and I almost bought concert tickets yesterday and will do that today instead of hesitating. And while I liked this band also, I’m ready for a more high-energy show.
