Joyful water

The daily writing prompt asks this Labor Day Monday – What brings a tear of joy to your eye?

I guess I’m a lucky guy because lots of events bring a tear of joy to my eyes. Just a few off the top of my head early this morning.

When my children and grandchildren leave after spending the day together. It’s so much fun.

Sometimes when I discover old family photos like I did this week.

When my better half or I get a personal gift from the kids/grandkids.

When we got our first pets.

The day I retired.

The day my children were born.

Seeing my grandchildren for the first time. Usually because my better half is crying so much.

Sometimes remembering a good thought when looking at an old picture of my parents who have long passed.

Watching a young couple get married and thinking way back when we said our I do’s.

Happy tear

What brings a tear of joy to your eye? – The Daily writing prompt inquires.

  • Running across something from my parent’s belongings that triggers a good memory.
  • My grandchildren kissing/hugging me when I didn’t ask for one.
  • My children. Their successes and milestones, of course. But sometimes just after spending a wonderful day together at our home.
  • When my wife cries in joy.
  • Retirement
  • When I first walk out to the beach each year.
  • Having an important medical test and the results are good.
Now there is a formation. Photo by Mike Hartley
