This week

Describe your ideal week. – Now there is a question for a Monday morning.

My mind wandered into the realm of what ifs, when thinking about an ideal week. But I’ll keep it reality based so it’s possible that this week is an ideal week.

Waking each morning healthy next to my better half, who is also healthy and happy, would be a nice start. Sharing breakfast together and planning day trips and time with the children and friends.

During the weekdays we hit small towns or a city like the Nation’s Capital and discover new places to eat. I photograph like I have endless time to process all the images. I paint and draw some. I carve and blog.

I share warm embraces with family and stories around the firepit. I raise a little hell with my best friends.

Spend a few hours with each grandchild.

Some romantic dinners/evenings with my better half.

Get some exercise.

I put the top down and absorb the sun on a day trip to the beach.

Take the time to help someone or do something for a stranger or maybe share some kind words.

Reach out to friends I don’t see often enough and chat.

Spend a few minutes in the hammock looking at the sky. Skip cutting the grass.

And if I still owned a motorcycle. I’d be heading to Bike Week in Ocean City MD this weekend.

Off the top of my head

Describe your ideal week. The daily writing prompt wants more thoughts from this flawed human.

  • Wake up each day.
  • Be thankful for my health each day
  • Appreciate the roof over my head and the food in the fridge.
  • Smile at being in love with my better half.
  • See my children and grandchildren.
  • See my friends or at least communicate with almost all of them.
  • Walk and exercise.
  • Create and share.
  • Think, laugh, listen.
  • Drive and detail the ride.
  • Ice cream or snowball treats.
  • Maybe a short trip to see something of interest.
  • Grill out.
  • Some hammock or lounge chair in the sun working on the tan.
  • Do something for others.
Nice combo even if my exposure is off. Photo by Mike Hartley
