What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – An interesting ask by the daily writing prompt.
I can’t think of any answers better than the ones I gave last year to the same question in a post titled “Consider the Source” I listed advice from various points in life and thought I covered it pretty well. Please check it out, some might be of use.
I will add one to the list though in this year’s post.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – A real serious question from the daily writing prompt.
Personally -Someone important to me said I was going to lose everything and kill myself if I continued to drink.
Professionally – Let go of what you know and are good at so you can move up to the next level and make room for all you need to know.
Political – VOTE
Legal – Cover your ass.
Financial – If you were smart enough to work hard and earn, don’t get lazy when it’s time to spend it and piss it away unwisely.
Don’t follow what others say, Go with your gut. Then again if you find yourself in a bad way most of the time it might be time to do a gut check.
I saw a good quote about advice. “What you do not use yourself, do not give to others.”
