Principles

What principles define how you live? – My answer to this question from the daily writing prompt in last year’s post called Simple Ones, was pretty complete and still holds true today.

But my nature says that I’ve lived another year so I must have learned something to add to that list.

  • Work on changing myself, instead of others.
  • There is time to take a stand. Be aware of that time.
  • Seeking truth is very important. That was true in the 1960s as it is today.
  • Always work on improving your common sense.
  • Say what is on your mind now before it’s too late.
  • Give your grandchildren memories that they will hold dear, long after you are gone.
  • Say “I love you” to those you love often as possible.
  • Appreciate each season. You never know if you won’t see one again.

Simple ones

What principles define how you live? – I wish I wasn’t so tired when answering these daily writing prompts.

I try to be the best husband, father, and grandfather, I can be. I try to be a good and reliable friend. I try to be courteous, respectful, and thankful. I try to communicate well and often. I try to laugh and find humor in life.

I try to keep bad habits in check and pick up good ones. I move forward regardless. I try to treat all people equally. Unless you prove you’re a piece of crap and then I will treat you like one.

I have gratitude for all I have been given.
