How do you deal with uncertainty? – asks the daily prompt.
Being that everything in life is uncertain, I just get busy living. I guess time and experience have given me that insight.
I wasn’t always good with it and wasted some time in my life thinking about what I couldn’t control. I used to spend time on things too far in the future that would change before that.
Yes, like every person I still have worries about all the uncertainties we face every day. Any parent or grandparent has worries about their children out in the world.
I have a type A personality and I like predictability. I do things in my life to take away uncertainties. I plan, when possible. I live in the present. I look at something that is uncertain and get busy analyzing it. Is it even important, what steps can I take to reduce the uncertainty.
Over the last two decades, I’ve had some health issues that really raise the uncertainty level to the max. The nice thing about that is it gives you a new perspective, and I’ve learned to live with uncertainty much better over that time.
It’s okay to acknowledge it, but it’s not okay to spend time dwelling in it. I guess I’ve picked up a few type B personality traits. And maybe I’ve found balance?
