The daily prompt asks a good question today – What does it mean to be a good person?

Words like respect, compassion, empathy, sharing, honorable, loving, truthful, come to mind. Little things and big things can make a good person.

Simple acts like holding a door for someone. Letting someone merge on the road. Smiling for no reason other than to maybe make someone else smile.

Maybe checking on an elderly neighbor or keeping in touch with a friend who is struggling physically or mentally and giving support.

Pulling over to see if a disabled motorist needs help. Saying have a nice day after an elevator ride together.

Sometimes being a good person is something that is thrust upon you. Seeing someone being abused verbally or physically and intervening.

Maybe charitable donations to help those in need. Some donate organs.

Taking the time to speak with someone who is lonely. I saw a lot of them when my mother was in assisted living.

Share some hope and optimism. Help someone remove obstacles, keeping them from being successful.

Sometimes it’s difficult for me but my mom always taught me that there was good in everyone. And I believed her till Trump and his minions came along.

If I wasn’t doing this at 3am, I’d probably have had a few more but off to the next project of the day. Have a good one.
