Catching up

Not much dry outside today so we are moving into the store. I was hoping to do some shooting today but it’s cold and damp. So I’ll switch to inside activities.

I finished editing the shots from Harpers Ferry yesterday and uploaded them to a portfolio on my photo site. All 48 images can be found HERE. Just select the slideshow box in the upper right if you want to go through the larger images.

If you like those the National Park Service Site on Harpers Ferry also has a good view of the town and things to do along the history (Stories) are also good.

It’s amazing what a full day’s work can accomplish. I kicked ass yesterday and hopefully can top it today. Got some important backups done and migrated a boatload of data. Several hours of editing and writing were accomplished.

Today isn’t free of obligations but there’s a lot of time to get work accomplished. But I’m switching back to carving and photo editing so I’ll be back here later this afternoon.

Quick Hit

My better half and I took a trip to Harpers Ferry West Virginia yesterday, I hadn’t visited in over 50 years.

Lots of flags about town. Photo by Mike Hartley

An easy drive as most things going west are. Even though the traffic there seems to be exploding also.

I’ll be eating here again. Photo by Mike Hartley

We had a great lunch on the deck at the Rabbit Hole. Really good food and a view. One of the most relaxing and last lunches outside of a great summer.

After hitting the shore a few times recently, the hills of Western Maryland are a beautiful sight. Photo by Mike Hartley

Even though it clouded up this afternoon the morning was pretty clear.

The town is small but hilly so go when you’re still young and able-bodied.

I love small towns. Photo by Mike Hartley

My better half did a few shops as I took a few shots outside.

We might not have gotten in many miles but we did a lot of steps. Photo by Mike Hartley

I better get moving here. Like this train below, I’ll see you on the other side of the tunnel.

I’m looking forward to a few train rides in the future. Photo by Mike Hartley

I’ll share a few more shots later this weekend.
