I’ve heard of Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane. Shot these in the little town of New Market Maryland. We love eating at The Derby Restaurant and Bar.

We will have to motor up that way in September for a meal and a stroll. I like shooting in that town.

Not feeling myself this morning. Not as sharp as most mornings. Feeling like I’m in and out of it. Moments of clarity and then pauses. Might be due to the unusual amount of sleep I had last night. A full 8 hours which is almost unheard of in one stretch.

And that shot to the head I just took from the corner of the shed as I was weeding around it didn’t help. At least it didn’t bleed long.

We had a special week with grandchildren. A nice way to finish out their summers. A trip to the playground was a lot of fun on Thursday with the 4 month old, 3 year old and 6 year old.

Got myself my first pair of Sketchers slip-ons. Now I can see myself purchasing a few more of these in the coming years. Not only are they comfortable and light weight, but I DON’T HAVE TO BEND OVER. Old men with bad backs rejoice. I may be late for this party but better late than never.

Random Thoughts of the Day

I don’t believe there is a reason for everything.
And some say tinkering isn’t working.
You come into this world alone, you exit alone. And a lot of the time in between you are alone in this world. You might think you’re not, but you ARE.
Find your therapy. Anything that keeps you alive.
I have rediscovered fruit smoothies.

We decided to take a ride to New Market Maryland and have an excellent lunch at The Derby. Then a walk of the town and friendly exchanges with one or two residents. I’ve got to get back here this spring and do some more shooting because this is a colorful little old town. From 1793 I read. Most of the buildings are historic as you will see.

I missed the ambulance pulling out by a minute.

I always find it good to get off the main streets and into alleys for hidden gems.

There seems to be a community effort to keep the color and contrast between homes and business in some beautiful shades. I believe I read the population is about 1,600.
