Numbers

I just noticed a number that made me smile. No, it wasn’t comments or likes or views or visitors.

The number that caught my eye was 5,000 posts published. In 12 years of blogging here at WordPress I’m happier than ever. Most of that 5K came in the last few years. In a lot of ways, I feel that was just the beginning. I’m getting more involved in the community and sharing more myself.

I have no perspective on where that number falls in the blogging perspective. I’m trying to keep my original goal of posting each day. And unless we have a prolonged power outage, I’m here every day.

Just the start of my little self-publishing empire. Who knows, maybe I’ll pick a more progressive theme and get this site organized. Picking up the quality of the content has always been a goal so maybe we can focus on that also.

I blog because I like it. It keeps me busy and active each day. It helps me get out and capture images to share. At one time I thought it would help my writing but that is going slowly.

Having the opportunity to create and share some thoughts and ideas is sweet. Leaving something for my kids and grandkids to know me better is also a nice thought.

Toiling away in relative obscurity is fine with me. Though I’m sure big brother is at least watching with some of the negativity I’ve shared about the current administration.

I can’t get enough time to do all the things I want to do today and, in the future, so I don’t do recaps. I’m sure there are a ton of klunkers in that 5K. There might be some pearls of wisdom buried in too many words. There might be a contest winning photo.

I’m focused on what I can get done tonight and what fresh shooting I’ll have for Thursday. So, onto the next 5K posts.
