Radio Broadcast

As more and more sports go to streaming there are more and more times I’ll be listening to the radio/internet broadcast again. Like the Maryland Terrapins season opener the other night.

I like radio sports. I grew up listening to a lot of it that way. Mostly basketball and baseball. There is something about a broadcaster helping you visualize in the mind now that brings back childhood memories.

Not many sports were televised, I mean a very few. Nothing like today. I wonder if our younger people will even listen to radio broadcasts. Could be a big change when my generation is gone.

Radio allows me to keep working on some other tasks, but also keep in the game. Lots of times I like the radio broadcasters better and will mute the sound on the TV and listen to the game called by the local announcers.

That local knowledge and history brings more to the broadcast than the national angle does. So the next game is on Monday and being that is on streaming also I’ll be listening again with excitement.
