Get it together

That was a disappointing turnout for the game last night at the University of Maryland. Even the students bailed on the game. The announced attendance was 10,461. I’m sorry but 2/3rds of them must have been in the restrooms or at the concession stands for the entire game.

The crowd lacked the energy of a normal Maryland game. We have to get butts in those seats.

One of the great things about being up early is the sunrise. On a cold morning like this though I’m more inclined to look at one of the webcams in Ocean City MD and catch the beauty of the beach, water and sun. Like this one from the Howard Johnson Oceanfront Inn.

A doctor’s appointment this afternoon and then I’m free to work on the hobbies. I’ve caught up with the mother ship, and I’m prepared to set sail.

Set Sail

Sometimes in life, you enter a zone. I’m kind of inspired this month so far. I’m making some prints for family and friends this morning. But apparently, I’ve been slacking here because the stats are down a bit. No problem, I’ll just step up the effort a bit.

I’ve picked up the Dremel tool a few times this morning. That is going to take some practice and learning some skills. Time to hit up YouTube. But I’ll keep practicing each day now.

I’ve got to dig out an azalea bush and put down some weed killer before it gets too hot.

I had a wonderful day with my children and grandchildren for a cookout at my son’s home yesterday. It was great fun and food. And we got sent home with leftovers so I’ll feast again today.

Random Thoughts of the Day

  • I was surprised by how light the traffic on the Baltimore Beltway on Sunday afternoon and evening.
  • Leave this place a better place for your kids – do it ONE VOTE at a TIME.
  • I love the honky tonk piano of Billy Powell on the song Call Me the Breeze.
  • Stay connected, it’s a lot more fun than the alternative.

Found

I found some old pictures I believe I shot of the tall sailing ships that visited Baltimore’s Inner Harbor in 1976. Before Harborplace, the National Aquarium or many other things were even built or repurposed. I don’t have a scanner to get them in the system, so I just snapped with the iPhone.

I can still remember the smell because the McCormick Spice factory was right across from the harbor at the time. A good thing, because that harbor was a mess for years.

I thought it was a fitting time to post those being Harborplace is in the planning again to be redeveloped.
