Dog days of Summer – but I love them

I think I’ll try to do some more pet photography. Recently grabbed a few frames from friends pets and its a bit like photographing children I’m finding out. I like animals, they wear their emotions on their paws. You know if they are happy, playful, hungry, tired, mad or sick. Their undying love is there every day for their owners and as a visitor to their homes I’m like a loved uncle. I love visiting them because I get to love their pets also.

I’m more of a cat person but my Son and my best friends have dogs and I love them dearly. What amazes me is the quality of the pets that they have raised. They are smart and non stop entertainment. But most of all, non stop love. Not to mention the protection they can display.

My Son is coming over with his today so there is another opportunity for me to practice. This is my brother in-laws Lab Kasey below. No she isn’t a bear on a leash. This was from our recent walk along the Patapsco. And as you can see a Lab and Water and not long parted.

So I need to shoot some more today. I got a new Hoya NXT CIR-PL polarizing filter last night. Hopefully that will aid my limited photographic skills. But just like basketball, you can’t “buy a game”. It takes practice, so bear with me please.

Found a few old gems from the early days.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
