A Thursday off was refreshing

Greeting and salutations. A wonderful day was had with family and friends. Maximizing life, one day at a time. I think it’s the best way to go about it. But boy is it easy to fall back into worrying about the small crap again. I’ve got to put in some safeguards for that just like I put one in today for another issue which I hope is a long way off. As we were going down the road an elderly driver was obviously having operator skill issues and really shouldn’t have been on the road. My daughter beat me to the punch and said there should be a test when people get older to make sure they have the ability to still drive. Then I said I agreed but if they don’t do that in my lifetime could she tell me if she ever saw my abilities get to the point where it wasn’t safe. The last thing I want to do is hurt someone else or someone I love, let alone myself. And while I love to drive and I love the independence it gives you, it’s not worth the risk.

Did some shooting around DC last night but only had a few minutes and didn’t get much of anything. Of course even in the middle of the night you can find politics on any corner of this town. For instance, I did see the Donald outside the University Club on 16th street as seen below here. I believe he is the ass end of this beast.

And then again I have to ask myself the same question this ticker sign displayed just around the block on 15th street which says “Why Hillary.” And that is a very good question also. And as a responsible citizen who always votes I’m going to be digging very deep about any candidate for what I like.

And as is the norm in the town of smoke and mirrors. This establishment below seems lost. For I shot this picture on 15th street between K and L streets. For in this town (Washington DC) nobody seems to know where they are at.

Well being I had a shot at the Elephant, I guess I should give the other party equal time and space. You know this has got me thinking already. I’m beginning to wonder if this election will be the year everyone gets so disgusted with the process and polarizing talk and big business buying the candidates before they are even elected that there is either a major revolt and reform or its the year that even the invested people who always vote just throw their hands in the air and say its controlled by special interest and there isn’t a damn thing I can do to change it.

Washington is full of some of the nicest hotels in the world. I’ve never stayed here but rumor is its nice. The Jefferson on 16th street is below.

Random thoughts from yesterday Thursday July 23rd 2015

  • Those you work with can elevate you or hold you down. And the sad fact is your boss has control over that situation because they do the hiring and firing.
  • If you take your health for granted it might just disappear.
  • Your brain should tell you who the genuine people are in life. So don’t ignore those signals.
  • Eating is a necessity, eating healthy is a choice.
  • I can see why comedians get so much joy from making others laugh. Because the times I can make friends and family laugh its a great feeling.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
