Props up to Mother Nature for a wonderful Friday

That’s right, many props for the wonderful weather today. Finally got to put the top down on the convertible and the wife and I picked up some rays on the way to and from Annapolis today. I had forgotten it was Commissioning week for the Midshipmen at the Naval Academy. And today kicked off the activities it appeared. So there were crowds of people in town for that celebration. And an early congrats to the class of 2016.

It was a wonderful day. Just what my better half and I needed. We haven’t had a Friday together in a while. It looked as if the boaters and everyone else who could get out today did so because I heard a number of conversations that began with “better being out today than the rest of the weekend.”

So I have an evening of some editing to do, but looking forward to that task. One that I admit I would like to have more tools at my disposal but I don’t let that stop me from trying to create something worthwhile. Maybe this is the year I’ll make an investment in Photoshop or Lightroom. But until then your forced to look at some basic images only edited with the Nikon software the D7100 came with.

Speaking of that I got to get my behind down to Service Photo and have a cleaning on that unit soon. Unfortunately today the old Nikon 70-210 may have taken its last few frames. The focusing is toast I believe. Going to take it in but I think it would be more money than its worth to fix it. I’ve been wanting to get some new glass and now my hand is forced.

And that is a difficult decision. One that I’ll rely on their expertise based on my needs to guide me to a purchase. And I think I’ll make it based on what I need instead of what I can afford at the moment. I mean really, at this stage of my life why would I hold back on doing some better work because of a few dollars. I’ll scrimp someplace else to make up for it.

Random Thoughts for Friday evening May 20th 2016

  • There are too many people on the road who shouldn’t be on the road.
  • There is nothing like sitting by the water to bring calm to ones being.
  • I don’t care if it rains the next two days. This day made the weekend perfect.
  • I’m so relaxed I’m having trouble coming up with my next random thought.
