The food coma is wearing off. The daughters and wife have left to shop, my sons are back at their homes with their pets. A shower has restored clarity. OK, I got a free day. First a wash of the car, can’t go out with that looking like it does. Parking in a construction site is never helpful. Kind of apprehensive about even going out today because of the shopping madness. Will stick to the back roads if I do.
You can find a lot of great things on back roads, but be careful, there isn’t room for errors on a single lane road with no shoulder. That is what is great about a convertible. I grabbed this shot after going past them the other way and just catching one casting out of the corner of my eye. So I circled back and was fortunate enough to just catch them between the trees that day.
I see a beautiful sunshine out today. I wonder what 50 degrees feel like with the top down? Guess we will give it a shot today or tomorrow. I’ve done it before. Riding that motorcycle year round one year taught me what cold really was. So the top down with a heated seat and heat on and a windshield, with some pre winter temps isn’t really roughing it.
I feel about as peaceful as one can be today. No work, a little exercise, watching some college basketball. Hopefully a few hours to tinker in the basement on some etching practice.
Trust is a wonderful thing.
I miss my parents on holidays. In addition to all those other days as well.
The treadmill is pretending to be my friend.
My family reminded me yesterday that I’m the luckiest man in the world.
