An observation. There are a lot of strung out people out and about. Stress level is something you can actually see in people. The eyes, the clenched jaw, the walk, the stare, the first words uttered. Lots of people wound very tight due to what are endless stresses. Wait till people look at their 401 K statement at the end of December.
So with a few days to go in the remainder of 2018, lets review. Well on second thought, lets not. Plus its always good to look forward. For that is the only thing we can change.
I’ve got to improve on my production each day. Now that I’m in a daily cycle for the blog, I’d like to work on design and content improvement. Something to break up the grey matter of my often too many words.
I’d like to say I’m going to do something structured like a topic or theme for each day of the week. But that isn’t the way this mind works or thinks. At least for now. I’ll have to work on training it to make some sort of organization of content.
I mentioned in a comment on another site the other day that I’d like to reduce my TV viewing. I think this could be a real-time gainer for me. I think I got the history channel down now. Even though I enjoy history, there is only so many ways you can watch the Bismark sink.
I like the discovery and nature channels. So I’m going to go outside and discover more myself.
Politics, I read and watch and listen and try to be informed. But I can cut back and still be informed.
Sports will be the toughest nut to crack. I love sports. But boy can it take a lot of hours in the week. So I’ve got to maybe be a bit more picky about what I’m watching. And maybe tape some things if I have to watch and cut out the commercials.
It’s easy to focus on the things you don’t like that you would like to reduce the hours. For instance I complain about the long commute to work and back. Lots of hours every week and I’m hoping to maybe work from home more in the future. Cutting back on things you enjoy is a tougher bridge to cross.
Random Thoughts of the Day
You know that you live in a bad ass town when someone turns in a rocket launcher at a gun buyback program. Congrats Baltimore.
I’m allowing myself to feel satisfaction more in my efforts.
Looks like Mad Dog Mattis has had enough. One less grown up in the room. I might have to look at the list, there are very few left.
I wonder how many Americans voted for Rush Limbaugh or Ann Coulter to be President and VP.
OK back to holiday spirit. I’ve got a Happy Hour to attend with a great friend who I haven’t seen in a while. And my secret girlfriend. His dog Lucy. I better remember to take her a few treats.
