Talk about a Good Friday. My better half was baking away today. These aren’t her’s below but they taste just as good or better than these look. The house smells great, but now I have several tins full of cookies and fudge talking to me. It sounds like a chorus up there. I can tell they will be singing away at me for the next several days.
I’m going to make it my mission to make sure there are at least a few left for the kids by the time they get here on Tuesday. Well, I’ll try my best. Well I’ll give it a shot. Well I won’t eat the coconut macaroons, because I don’t like them. I’ll let you know about my success or failure next week.
I’m guessing this is the last day that we are going to see 60+ degree temps here in Maryland for a good while. If it wasn’t still wet and drizzling this afternoon I would have put the top down. If I’m not mistaken, I think today is the shortest day of the year for daylight. Well that at least means we can look forward to the brighter side of the year.
I was out and about a bit earlier today and its a world of extremes. People trying to kill each other on the highway and parking lots. Others exchanging holiday greetings, extending simple courtesies and wearing the smiles of the season. I feel for retail workers. Some of them get treated like crap. I could never do that. I don’t have the patience to serve or interact with the general public in a service capacity. Oh I could do the job. Probably very well and give a very good impression.
But there are more than a few people out there that have the combination of buttons on me that turn me into the asshole they wish they never met. And that would go against most companies policy. So I stay out of those situations. Who knows, maybe I’ll settle down and have those buttons removed some day.
More Random Thoughts of the Day
I’m going to have to break down the cleaning of my office into smaller parts. For now I come in and look and shake my head and dive into the laptop. That isn’t going to get it done.
Things are not going in a good direction.
I wouldn’t want to be stuck with the legacy, some high-profile people have. No matter the money or power or titles.
I’m hoping for a week of peace next week.
