I must stay in motion. It’s what is going to take me into old age and be able to enjoy it. I have to start incorporating it more throughout my day and evening. Working out for the shoulder rehab is gave me that daily routine that I need to continue to stay healthy and fit.
And then I blew it and got busy and lazy again and the habit fell by the wayside. Time to get back on that horse this weekend.
I decided I needed to move my go-cart and go for a ride, so I pulled the cover off and thought about putting the top down but the sun disappeared, so it stayed up and went for a cruise. It felt so special to drive that stick shift again. It had been a while since I’d had it out. I also was reminded of where to go and where not to.
I had initially headed east to Rt 40 for an errand. I figured it was after the lunchtime rush being it was about 1:30 pm. Well, that was a miscalculation, as I almost got hit head-on with some idiot on Rt 99 not paying attention and coming into my lane. All kinds of bad driving and madness. I said screw this and headed back west. Quickly it’s becoming my favorite part of the county.
Felt like a Hitchcock movie yesterday. Thousands of birds stopped to graze. I worry about the number of birds and wildlife overall. I saw a nice comeback in the butterfly population last year, not that I’m an expert in tracking numbers of them. Just seemed like a lot more than the previous 2 years.
