Feeling good about today. Don’t know why except that progress is being made on a few fronts and that always feels good. But here I am at the end of the day a bit scared of how fast it went. I blinked my eye after sunrise and now I feel the need to get horizontal.

I know I didn’t sleep the day away so I guess a hard day’s work made it fly by. I did manage to snap a few frames and that is a start. And while I’m writing and trying to become more well-read each day I’m struggling to get time to shoot.

Thank goodness for another day ahead, which is my hope. For I get to see a couple of my favorite 4 legged friends and roll around the floor with them like one of them. But first, a couple of small slivers of ice cream because after all, I am the Ice Cream Man, to them.

When they come to my home one of them directs me to the freezer with her nose. We get there and she sits and looks at the freezer and then at me and back and forth till I move to get the ice cream. Ah, life’s simple pleasures. The joy of a dog. The wonderment of a toddler. Watching birds struggle against high winds but still move together as a unit. Having a warm home on a cold day. And hope for tomorrow.

Even though not everything is well, everything is well.

Random Thoughts of the Day

  • I think I figured it out. The brain is in control of the body from age 0-40. After that the body says my turn and controls the brain from 40 and beyond. I’ve learned it’s rather spiteful.
  • Kids are kids, I don’t believe it. I think they are wiser than adults.
  • I might have a future as a caulker. I lay down a nice bead. And then again, I’m probably overconfidient in my abilities.
  • Wind runs a very close second to cold in my book of dislikes.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
