Last Monday night we stayed at this fine Marriott spot in Ocean City. Given the chance of rain in the next few days, I’m glad we’re home this week. I was up early and out shooting, on the way back to the hotel when I got this image about 20-30 minutes before sunrise.

I only stay downtown in the offseasons. This is nice on 15th Street. Photo by Mike Hartley

We had the 4th-floor top right with the wraparound porch oceanfront room. It’s got me looking for our next overnight stay already. I’m not sure where or when that will be but someday soon.

I think we will opt for the older hotel or maybe B&B on the next stay. I have a few ideas.

Today was a beautiful day. Lots of motorcycles out with what looked to be young and old riders. I’m guessing some might have been playing hooky. I got the cover off and took the Miata for a ride with the top down. It was in the mid-60s so it was mandatory. A short cruise but enough to charge my batteries and the cars. The cover was just reapplied, and tied down, in prep for the rain tonight.

The nice weather today reminded me that I should get to work in the yard. I had two huge piles of sticks out front that filled two trashcans that were taken to the back. Got my first cut of the season on the right hand. That early mistake was mine, took the gloves off. The damn thing is still bleeding, must have stabbed it good.

Regardless it’s been a great day. Good health news in the family. A very productive and fun day. Talked to some of my friends and wrote others. And there is 4 hours left to accomplish even more. I know I’d like to get some night shooting practice. We will see how heavy the rains are. Water does make for some nice reflections.

Random Thoughts of the Day

  • It’s been a while since I detailed my car. That will be my goal this month before I take it to the next meeting.
  • After avoiding contact with my better half due to illness it feels so good to give her a hug and kiss again.
  • Why does a change of season to spring automatically start to grow the to-do list?
  • My better half gave me the date of the delivery of the mulch this year. It’s not that day I’m concerned about. It’s the next several we have to spread it.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
