What does freedom mean to you? – Interesting Daily Writing prompt.

My first thought about freedom came from my grandparents and parents. Their generations fought world wars for freedom. They knew great sacrifice. They and many service members living and dead have paid that price. And I for one will always be respectful and thankful.

When I think of freedom further it goes to expression and speech. The freedom to move about freely.

Ah, there it is. The FREEDOM from working for someone else. I have that now, in some respects, I still pay taxes. I’m no longer the indentured servant of some pecker-headed greedy bastard.

Freedom is watching a young child play without the cares and fears of knowing the trouble in this world.

Freedom is choosing if I want the cream of crab soup or the regular crab soup.

Freedom may soon come down to a choice in the next election if you want to start calling each other Comrad or not. My father didn’t go to war so I could vote for some Putin-loving scum bag.

I have the freedom of annoying you all with mindless dribble and you have the freedom if you want to read it or not. If so have a great day of Freedom.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
