Only 4 and a half months into retirement and I feel all over the place. The first two months of the transition were very busy with just the logistics of acquiring new medical coverage and finances. It was also loaded with medical/dental and eye appointments.
I’ve been happy with my increased effort in the area of blogging. I’m disappointed I haven’t done a lot more photography. I have picked it up this last month so if I can build on that maybe I was just a slow starter. I haven’t done the woodworking I was hoping to. I’ve also been slack on my drawing production.
Some days I feel I’ve been lazy. Others I’m very productive.
Some days I question why I’m doing certain things like yardwork. Sometimes I enjoy it and other times I feel like I could be spending the time better elsewhere.
Mostly I feel much more relaxed and at peace. But at the same time, I want to accomplish much more this day, week, month, year. So time to slip this transmission into gear and get moving again.
I have to find something else to shoot this weekend. I was going to the Cruisin Car Show, in OC but Mother Nature is not in the mood for it.
Random Thoughts of the Day
- I can’t imagine the NBA without the TNT crew.
- Not the best of days, but not the worst either.
- People in Costco drive their carts like their cars in the Columbia location.
- Will streaming services destroy sports?
- Inspiration is a great thing. When it flows there is so much fulfillment. The more time I spend doing and having my senses open to input in a positive frame of mind, the more creativity is a byproduct.

Inquiring minds want to know. in what way do costco shoppers drive their carts like their cars? and also how do you think streaming could destroy sports?

Columbia Costco shoppers are oblivious to everyone else around them and courtesy is in limited supply. Streaming sports is paying for it. What made sports great is that kids could watch a game and go imitate their stars. If they can’t see them then they won’t be imitating them. They will find something else. Also it turns me off that I would have to have several to even see something like all the NFL games. And all sports are moving that way so they will price themselves out of many peoples homes.

Reads to me like you’re still in work mode wanting to achieve objectives. You need to chill more and ensure what you want to do has priority over what you need to do. Don’t worry, it’s a gradual process.
