What profession do you admire the most and why? – The Daily Writing prompt made me think again.

Wow, it’s tough to choose just one profession. Doctors or Nurses – Police or Firemen – Our Military or Federal Law enforcement – Artists or Musicians.

I probably admire those in the medical profession the most. Saving lives and helping people live longer is pretty good in my book. The strength needed for treating those in dire circumstances, especially the young is incredible to me.

The human body is still a big mystery in many ways. Medicine is constantly evolving and advancing. From the person trying to find the cure for cancer to the nurse holding the patient’s hand and reassuring them the medical profession is something to be cherished instead of assaulted.

It’s far from an exact science many try their hardest every day and we still succumb to age, diseases, and accidents. But they go in the next day and do their best not to lose another one of us.

The military or law enforcement could easily be in the first spot for admiration because of the danger they encounter over every other profession. They have my utmost respect for the courage they get up with daily. The stress of people with weapons and medical has to be some of the tops in life. And we should support and help them in any way we can.

My choices might be influenced by my father. He was a USN HMC. So both a medical man and a service member.
