Daily mindset

Yesterday my daily streak of 246 days was broken. I heard a pop around 3 am and looked where the clock should be telling me the time but darkness was there. I didn’t get power back till this morning from the storm that came through. About 30 hours of outage time. Yes, I have a generator but I’ve been under the weather this week so till this morning the thought of getting it outside and fired up wasn’t in the cards.

Plus I need to build a dry spot for it, especially in the downpours we were getting. That is another project before winter hits.

Good ole BG&E got the power on within 10 minutes of me getting home with the filled gas can for the generator. If I had known it was that simple I would have gone for gas yesterday. I saw a neighbor out yesterday morning and he was on his way out to pick up a new generator because his just bit the dust. Therefore he said the power should be on just before he got back. He was wrong.

I thought about doing a post through that app on the phone but I could barely see that and I needed it because my better half, daughter, and granddaughter were away and I was using the phone for its intended purpose being communication.

Did that streak matter, yes it did because it’s another unit of measure I use to be consistent. But I’m not upset that it broke, life happens. I worked being creative yesterday and that is the streak every day I most cherish. I reorganized my bookcase, took photos, put a few new lines in a pastel piece, wrote on a pad of paper ideas for future posts, and did a few other tasks.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
