How do you manage screen time for yourself? – Good question I think about often, from the daily writing prompt.
We’re all faced with multiple screen times to manage and control. How much TV time? How much computer time? How much Smartphone time? How much game time? I’m sure a lot of our parents are rolling over in their graves about how much time we spend in front of all of them now.
Things I do to manage and balance my life with technology.
- Limit my smartphone time to 1 hour a day. Trying to get it to just text, phone calls, and photos.
- Limit TV time. I’m working on reducing that each day now. I might just turn it off for the next 4 years.
- Computer time is one I’m flexible at because it’s a tool for my hobbies that I love. But I can get lost in YouTube videos occasionally.
- To help control my computer screen time I get up every 15-20 minutes for a break and sometimes exercise.
- I try to spend more time shooting than photo editing.
- I try to use the devices to learn and educate myself more than entertainment value.
