Pretty good Wednesday

Any day that the doctor says “your all good, see you next year” it’s a good day. It was also a very quick appointment and NO WAIT. I should have got a lottery ticket today. Now if I can get the same reaction from some other doctors I see I’ll be dancing in the rain.

So onto the enjoyment of the day.

Photography Journey Day 13 – 11/13/24

Took my first bird shot with the new camera around sunrise this morning in my backyard. This task will serve a dual purpose. I’ll try to learn the types of birds along the way.

Not sure about this one. An Eastern Bluebird or female Mountain Bluebird.

After the doctor’s visit I was short on daylight so I headed to a spot near the home. The Patapsco River where it crosses under Woodstock/Old Court Road is about a mile down the road. The shot below is standing on the bridge over it.

I can see clearly now, the leaves have gone. Photo by Mike Hartley

Of course, I had to go down by the water, bad knee and all, and get a shot of the bridge I was on.

I’ll make sure to hike down here when the temps get colder and the ice starts to form.

What I learned today.

  • Hiking with my new camera is a lot easier than the big Nikon.
  • Even though you’re out in the wild doesn’t mean wildlife will be there with you.
  • I’m going to have to start taking my tripod with me more.
  • You can only capture your next shot if you’re out trying to get it.

I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
