At least we’re afloat

Sometimes I feel like my ship is taking on water. Life seems like a constant series of bailing out. Between personal challenges, family challenges, financial challenges, professional challenges and then the society challenges that are mounting daily.

Our government has checked out creating new challenges. The climate extremes are presenting new challenges for both food and species. The pace of changes causes me to Google strange things. Like where I live is 318 ft above sea level. So, I ask if the ice caps melted how much would the sea level rise? The answer the USGS gave was it would be an increase of 230 feet.

Hey, that makes my trip to the ocean a lot shorter.

But enough worrying. Time to get on with life and solve some of those issues. Time will be limited to fixing world issues, so I’ll concentrate on those closer to home.

I have to be responsible and pay a few bills. And schedule a second estimate for upgrading my attic insulation. We must pick up some supplies for a gathering this weekend. I hope to enjoy watching the Maryland basketball game later and maybe do some drawing.

There are photos from yesterday to download, the office could use some cleanup and I could spend an hour outside picking up downed branches. But first, a little exercise.

Random Thoughts of the Morning

  • I’m listening to more comedy and laughing more. I knew there were solutions out there.
  • Chocolate – not just for dessert.
  • Age is wonderful. I’m all the time wondering, is that new pain something to be concerned about, or just aging?
  • I’m starting to get encouraged. Could we be finding our voice? Vive la Résistance

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
