A fine start to the day. My granddaughter spent the night and wanted bacon this morning so I got up early and cooked a pound of it. I love bacon myself. She only ate one slice. And with ketchup. She’s killing me.
Today I caught up with an old friend. One I worked a long time with and who has supported me many times in my life, both personally and professionally. She is a beautiful person inside and out. One that inspires and brings comfort. And as with many friends, one that has seen many struggles and never lets them keep her from moving forward, where many would have stopped before. Another strong woman in my life. I’m blessed with a lot of them.
I can’t wait to see her.

Random Thoughts of the Day
- Pets are the true gift.
- It’s okay to have an opinion. It’s okay to express it. But be prepared to hear an alternative opinion. And if you can’t handle that keep your mouth shut.
- Do you ever have those days when a particular musical group really touches a note with you?
- Someone is having trouble controlling the narrative. Could it be Karma is finally growing a backbone.
- I’m excited about tomorrow. There are a few hours I’ll be in the driver’s seat going through gears repeatedly with the top down and the music flowing with no destination in mind other than looking for some smooth roads without a lot of traffic. There will be stops here and there to pull the camera out and try to capture some local flavor of summer. I’ll put my ice cream gift card in the wallet and treat myself.
