Write it down

The daily writing prompt asks me this morning – What do you enjoy most about writing?

I just enjoy communicating. I write to my children a few times a week because the time for calls sometimes is rushed.

Writing sometimes helps me get my thoughts and priorities together and in order.

I like it when someone enjoys a random thought or caption on a picture. Or maybe one of the thoughts I’ll express here.

I’d really like to get a book or two done and that will be a real writing challenge for me.

It would be great to write something that inspired a family member or friend or even a stranger. And maybe even myself, occasionally.

I make it one of my daily hobbies now that I’m retired and it brings me enjoyment.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.

  1. What a lovely post! It’s clear that writing brings you a lot of joy and fulfillment. Have you started working on your book projects yet, or are you still in the planning stages? I’d love to hear more about your writing journey!

    • I’ve supported journalist and photographers all my life in the newspaper industry. Running the editorial and other systems to support them. Early on I was a reproduction photographer and converted photos into halftones for printing. I guess I learned a little by reading and seeing all those images and I’ve always been inspired with people with those abilities, so I thought I’d try it myself in retirement. Books are a bit more than planning stages. Been writing for a bit but lots of editing needed. Luckily I know some good editors.
