Write for you

The daily prompt asks – How do you write what people actually want to read?

I don’t.

I write what comes to mind. If people like it, that’s great. If they don’t, that’s fine also. I write because I like it.

Sometimes my photos will inspire a thought. Other times I just ramble on.

I think if your writing for what people want to read it’s not truly coming from you. It’s some form of what you think others want and I’m not sure that brings out the best in people’s writing.

Write it down

The daily writing prompt asks me this morning – What do you enjoy most about writing?

I just enjoy communicating. I write to my children a few times a week because the time for calls sometimes is rushed.

Writing sometimes helps me get my thoughts and priorities together and in order.

I like it when someone enjoys a random thought or caption on a picture. Or maybe one of the thoughts I’ll express here.

I’d really like to get a book or two done and that will be a real writing challenge for me.

It would be great to write something that inspired a family member or friend or even a stranger. And maybe even myself, occasionally.

I make it one of my daily hobbies now that I’m retired and it brings me enjoyment.
