The daily writing prompt asks – What details of your life could you pay more attention to?

I answered this last year I thought I’d update on how I did with those hopes. Last year’s details in bold and how I did on them in Italic

Now that I’m exercising more, I need to focus on what works best, the techniques for proper lifting, and the exercises that help the most and don’t aggravate the problem areas.

I have done some research and incorporated a few techniques in lifting and with dumbbells. My better half got a me book on back exercises that I have to get into more.

I’m an amateur at most of the hobbies I tinker with, but I’d like to advance in each and that takes more than doing them. So, I must improve my studying techniques and skills for those activities.

Worked on this goal but not hard enough. I’ve done more on my photography in stretching into new shooting areas and learning the limits of the lens and lighting. But there is still a long way to go.

I’ve always considered myself a good driver. I’ve been watching a few videos of autocross from club members and that might be a good test for an old man’s hand-eye-foot coordination.

I haven’t attempted the autocross yet, and I’m not sure if it’s for me. Not that I don’t challenge myself on a road or two now and then.

Sometimes I forget to appreciate the small things each day that make it special.

I’ve made huge progress in this area. And I’m much happier for it. Some days there are only small things to appreciate so you better get better at finding them.

Being a better listener is always on my agenda, and it always pays off big but sometimes I stray from that logic.

I know I’ve talked less and listened more this year. Learned a lot about people from listening. And this has helped my decision-making process.

Details for this coming year that need more attention.

Teaching my grandson important skills with tools – Teaching my granddaughter more artistic techniques – Making my youngest granddaughter laugh and smile – Utilizing the tools at my disposal better like my printer and cameras – Get involved in changing the direction of this country – Oh yeah, my engine compartment needs detailing even though it looks nothing like below.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
