In 20

What’s a piece of technology you’re convinced will exist in 20 years? – Now there is an interesting question from the daily prompt.

Well, if I’m around, in 20 years, I hope to have my Miata still running. That means I might have one of the last manual transmission cars on the road.

Some say the pace of change with technology is going to dwarf any past periods. So, the next 20 years could bring about great change. But being old school, I’m going with an old school technology because I for one have no idea where this technological madness is taking us.

So, my answer is a Bicycle

I was going to say a hammer a chisel, because it’s always possible that we might just bomb each other back into the stone age.

Beach and Bikes go together.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.

  1. We’ll still have bicycles

  2. I hope you are right; a bicycle is a great thing to have in your life at any age.
I learned to ride a bike when I was 13; a neighbour taught me. And with that skill, 10 years later I bought a second-hand 10-speed (it was purple and beautiful), and it became my Porsche bike. I rode it everywhere, all over Auckland; it was my primary mode of transport. I entered and completed triathlons on that old 10-speed. I rocked up in my 80s lycra with my bike; the top-gun entrants would look at me and ask where my bike was.
“I’m on it. This is my bike.”
They looked and shook their heads, trying to hide grins and laughter. I could not see what their problem was. I ignored them and rode, swam and ran. I finished with dignity. I loved that bike.
So I hope bikes are still around, not the electric ones, but the pedal pushers.
    Thanks for a great post!
