This coming weekend is Ocean City Jeep Week 2026. It will be held from Thursday, August 27, through Sunday, August 30, 2026. The Facebook page says it was founded in 2010. It’s something I’ve thought about attending because it brings huge throngs of people and their jeeps to the beach. That is a rolling parade on the sands that is cool to watch.

Memories of an old trip in a CJ4 with a neighborhood friend to Ocean City in my youth came back as I was getting a photo for this post. Jeff’s Jeep was a fine piece of work. He had dropped a V8 in it and it was loud. We rode down with it completely open. Unfortunately, Jeff was rather fair skinned, and he got a terrible sunburn that first day. Jeff was a good man and a good friend who passed too young.

I see nothing but sun in the forecast so get out and have some fun and take those tops and doors off.

Random Thoughts of the Morning

• I bet a lot of young people can’t relate to the death of Dolly Parton as something that is a significant loss. And I’m not a country music fan. I am a fan of good songwriting, of people who are giving of themselves, who better the world and those around them.
• Sometimes the best times are the simplest.
• Keeping your weight in a healthy range takes work. At least it does for me.
• My granddaughter wants pancakes again for breakfast so let me get to that job.
