I see sunshine and warmth in the forecast for today and given my schedule isn’t packed with work, I plan on being outside and absorbing a lot of it.
Here we are on the last day in August, the feeling of another summer slipping by and it pains me. Maybe I can rescue myself and see if I can make it to the sands and sounds of waves on the shore again before the seasons change on me.
I might get my share of water today if I get the power washer out. Then again, I might not want to press things, I’m just starting to feel human.
Sitting here thinking about my teacher children and grandchildren going back to school today. What a responsibility we put on these people. The value of a committed teacher is a special thing. The true value is in seeing young minds develop well. Many lessons teachers impart aren’t in the books. Because some aren’t taught at home.
So, a salute to another school year, all those who get your kids safely back and forth each day. To the administration and teachers interacting with your children. To the janitorial and cafeteria workers who clean up and feed your children.
Let me go open the shed and get started. I’ll be back to join you again later.
Random Thoughts of the Morning
- Listening to some old favorites this morning like CSNY Almost Cut My Hair. The live version of it at Farm Aid was great.
- I was reminded that the first one out the door in the morning is the one who cuts through the spiderwebs of life.
- Steve Winwood – Back in The High Life Again is a nice tune for the morning.
- The more I thought about the things needing attention, the more I realized I have a lot to do before Saturday.
