Maybe

I’ve ridden a lot of bikes but never one of these before. I’ll go with the chopper one. The one, the guy is on looks dangerous to me. Getting a bike (bicycle 2 wheels) has appealed to me in the last few years. My better half likes to ride but we would have to put them on the car and go to a spot to bike.

We love to rent bikes at the beach and ride the boardwalk. Or when we stayed in Bethany Beach in past years renting a bike in the offseason is the way to go around town. No traffic (cars or people) to contend with. A riding pleasure.

Two people riding tricycles on a beach promenade with an orange barrier and a clear blue sky in the background.

I won’t be cruising in the ocean this Sunday or in a self-powered vehicle, but I will be out and about in the Miata for the next few days with the temps warming significantly. Nothing like a convertible on a sunny day.

And after being out a few hours yesterday all I can say is WOW. Both for what an experience it is when it’s good and wow some people just can’t drive.

Such is life, some shots to download and change into my SUPER YARDMAN gear.

Random Thoughts of the Day

  • Watching one of the greatest heists in history right in front of our eyes.
  • You want Summer, you asked for summer, well we got SUMMER.
  • Remarkable what it takes to get our attention now days.
  • First slither of the season on the porch this morning, just a 5-foot black snake. Got a picture of it to post later. Unfortunately, my better half stumbled upon it first. She won’t be right the rest of the day. I returned him to the woods behind our home.

Set the bar high

Go ahead, set the bar high for yourself. That way you’re doing it for yourself and not someone else. And by choosing what you set the bar for, success is more likely.

Doing a bit of a reset myself. I’ve been frozen like this weather in my progress. This coming week that all changes.

Random Thoughts of the Day

  • I just realized how many choices I’ve made already in the short time I’ve been awake, and it’s scary.
  • From Washington Post hero to zero in a little over a decade. Nice stewardship.
  • I’m surprised at how some are surprised that Trump posted something racist. Duhh
  • Dogs have so much love. And I’m a loving person. But it can get annoying.
  • There is a collective sigh of pain from a lot of people who worked at The Washington Post.

Sure

Rolling down the boardwalk, soaking up rays, enjoying the sights. Yeah sure, I could do that. I enjoy riding as much as anyone. Spent a lot of time in a bike seat. Both pedal and motorized. From my own legs to 1100cc, I’ve always loved 2 wheels.

I only saw this one rider with the OC Ryderz. We didn’t rent bikes there on our last visit. I’d like to buy some and get a carrier for them. But having had surgery on both shoulders I think my days of hanging on to ape hangers are over.

For as much as I cruise this town when there I wonder if I could get membership for my Miata.

One of my friends had those ape hanger handlebars when we were young. Not for the faint of heart if you’re going to do any trail riding. Almost suicide, at least you won’t go over the handlebars, you will catch them and take the bike flipping over with you.

So I’ll be on the plain jane old man single speed bike with the nice cushioned seat. Ride safe regardless what you ride and where.
