Comfort

Boy was that bed comfortable this morning. I fell asleep early last night in the basement, and woke a bit after midnight. I worked for a bit and went to bed later.

I love the comfort of my home. And while it’s no palace, it suits us just fine. I liked it when we pulled up to it the first time. Going inside make me think more than once though. We have done a good bit but it could still use a lot of work.

No, we don’t have expensive furniture to sit or lay on. The basement stuff is all used or hand me downs. But that queen size mattress that we got a few years back, has been the best buy of comfort I think we have ever made.

And while my hammock might be more cost effective, and is extremely comfortable, I’m not spending the night in that. Both of my office chairs suck. The recliner we have is too small for me, but I make do.

The seating position in that Miata is comfortable, I just wish climbing out of it was easier.

But the best comfort is reaching over and grabbing my wife’s hand in bed and she immediately squeezes mine.

Random Thoughts of the Day

  • I feel like I’m just starting to touch the surface of relaxed.
  • I read it was the warmest January on record for the earth. We in central Maryland would be glad to accept any unwanted warmth, because we are freezing our behinds off.
  • I must be getting older. I stopped, when I saw an advertisement on recliners. Good thing I still own a little sports car to motivate my backside out of a chair like that.
  • I’m trying to listen to a few new pieces of music every day now.

Comfort?

What strategies do you use to increase comfort in your daily life? – A fun question from the Daily Writing prompt.

  • Stretch in the mornings.
  • Sit in soft chairs.
  • Big hugs from grandchildren.
  • Lay in a hammock.
  • Lift some light weights.
  • Walk
  • Time in my better half’s arms.
  • Catch some rays on my deck lounge chair.
  • Listen to music that makes me move.
  • Try not to fall asleep in the recliner when I have a very good bed to lay in.
  • If at the beach I lay in a custom-fitted bed of sand listening to waves.
